Today we went to check out the Archaeological Site of Delphi which is about a 3 hour drive from Athens. Although the site is not as impressive as the Acropolis, the surrounding hills and valleys make up for it.
The drive back to Athens coincided with the end of Greek Easter weekend so the roads were pretty crazy. It seems the entire Greek driving community have decided that the imposed speed limits are at least 20 kmph too slow and that the reduced limits enforced when passing through towns can be ignored. Undertaking is rife and the variance in vehicle speeds along the motorway can be up to 50 kmph. I'm surprised we didn't see an accident and grateful I didn't cause one with my Grandpa driving. I think one motorcyclist wasn't so impressed with my driving skills though as they were on the phone immediately, possibly reporting me to the authorities. Maybe I'll report them.
Supermarket dinner on the hotel rooftop rounded it out.
